About the Role

Hounds Travel designs luxury, dog-friendly travel experiences for owners who want to bring their dogs everywhere they go. Key Responsibilities

Tour Design & Development

  • Design and build new tour itineraries (e.g., regional getaways, European tour circuits, alpine/countryside experiences) that balance a luxury human travel experience with genuine dog accessibility and comfort
  • Scout and evaluate destinations, accommodations, and activities for pet-friendliness, safety, and brand fit
  • Continuously refine existing tours based on guest feedback and performance data

Vendor & Supplier Relations

  • Identify, vet, and negotiate agreements with pet-friendly hotels, restaurants, transportation providers, ground handlers, and activity/experience partners
  • Build long-term partnerships that support repeatable, reliable tour delivery
  • Manage vendor contracts, service standards, and ongoing relationship health

Pricing & Margin Management

  • Build cost models and pricing structures for each tour (per-person and per-dog tiers where applicable)
  • Set and manage margins across tour packages, add-ons, and seasonal pricing
  • Monitor profitability and adjust pricing strategy as needed

Compliance

  • Ensure every tour meets applicable pet travel compliance requirements (health documentation, cross-border regulations, breed- or region-specific restrictions, transport rules)
  • Coordinate with internal compliance resources to keep itineraries current as regulations change
  • Maintain documentation and guest-facing compliance guidance for each tour

Marketing Content

  • Develop tour-specific marketing content: itinerary write-ups, web copy, brochures, and promotional materials
  • Coordinate photography/content needs to support sales and waitlist campaigns
  • Partner with marketing on launch timing and positioning for new tours

Operations & Cross-Functional Work

  • Coordinate day-to-day logistics and prepare contingency plans for pet-related issues on tour
  • Collect and act on guest feedback post-tour
  • Work with sales and marketing to support tour launches and waitlist conversion

Qualifications

  • Experience in tour operations, travel product development, or luxury travel design
  • Strong vendor sourcing and negotiation skills
  • Familiarity with international pet travel regulations (or strong willingness to learn and partner with compliance resources)
  • Comfortable writing or directing marketing copy and content
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning a product end-to-end
  • Genuine enthusiasm for dogs and pet travel

Nice to Have

  • GDS or travel booking systems experience
  • Existing network of luxury hospitality or pet-friendly venue contacts
  • Experience in a small business/startup environment wearing multiple hats
